Allan Ellinger* and Harlin Blank announced they are resigning from the Board at tonight’s meeting. They probably want to avoid the humiliation of being recalled by the owners. Ellinger then had the chutzpa to offer to stay on for a few weeks to help with his expertise during the transition. I think the Galaxy residents had just about enough of his “expertise”. Just take a look at the condition of the building and the financials under his and Norget’s reign of blunders.

Harlan resigned, effective, tonight. Allan did not. He offered to resign, contigent on arranging a transition that guarantees that the REST of us might get some action...

This was a courageous offer and a good one.

This will be a good test of where Fini and Slava really stand.

They were elected to serve all owners. So far, they've only served their own political futures...

What I heard tonight was the sound of people who are fed up with politics...

Ellinger offered to resign after he set the bar so high with what is called conditions precedent in contract negotiations. There are so many unrealistic conditions that his offer is really only an offer that will never materialize and he knows it. It is a bad faith offer. A guest wrote this was a courageous offer and a good one. This was merely an attempt by Ellinger to delay the special unit owners meeting which 318 unit owners called on their directors to enact. This is all in compliance with the associations by laws. For Ellinger to try to renegotiate the recall in the open session with his idea that no other director or president can take his place is absurd. It is merely a scare tactic which shows his insecurity. He has no subject matter, jurisdiction nor authority over the renegotiation of a legitimate request by petition for a special unit owners meeting with the sole purpose of recalling 4 directors. He is only one director. There should be no more arguments and discussions claiming the unit owners did not understand what they were signing. There should be a date certain for the special unit owners meeting. His position of denial just may have the association back in court defending the demands for the special unit owners meeting. This will cost all of us more money which we don’t have. He is not a flexible person.

His refusal to have the insurance company’s lawyer defend the association against CUOG which probably could have been settled by now but is still on going costs all of us more money. It is costing us too much money for Ellinger to clear up his personal vendettas. Again his talk is insulting and condescending to unit owners who are intelligent enough to raise families, graduate law and medical schools, run businesses, apply to banks for mortgages, deal with tax collectors, deal with appraisers, accountants, lawyers and contractors in their daily lives.

He is way out of touch with the heart beat and desires of the unit owners. He realizes that he is a lame duck president at this point and his days are numbered with a recall. The only way there will not be a recall is if all 4 named directors on the petition resign. It is not up to Ellinger to offer suggestions for as he claims strictly a business point of view. It is exactly his business point of view and his leadership that got the association to be the laughing stock of the Gold Coast. This is not about politics it is about enhancing the property values and returning us to living in a sane civil society amongst other hard working neighbors. Fiscal responsibility and prudent management guidance must be reinstated. Ellinger’s reign of terror along with Buckalew’s is now running on a respirator.

Tokay,
Don't know which peace pipe you've been inhaling recently, but the events of last evening were pre-scripted. The resignations have nothing to do with courage. It is all about control of the board and the money. Let me enlinghten you;

If Ellinger and Harlin both resigned effective last night, here's what would happen next: the remaining board gets to appoint replacements at a specially called meeting.
Now for the numbers: Kaehler/Hasse/Bolasco vote one way, Strumza/Braitman/Lerner the other. Stalemate. Swing vote: Marjan. The way he's been having a conscience lately, Ellinger-Norget cannot be certain of a preordained outcome.
Hence, the events of last night, only Harlin resigns. Now the new math: Ellinger/Hasse/Bolasco/Kaehler v Strumza/Braitman/Lerner. Even if Marjan votes with Strumza et al, stalemate (good). They'll make sure he votes the right way or abstains.

Now prior to the recall:
Ellinger resigns a few days prior to the recall. Board meets to discuss replacement. Here are the numbers again: Hasse/Bolasco/Kaehler/New Norget-Ellinger puppet v Strumza/Braitman/Lerner. Swing vote? Marjan. Worst case scenario? Stalement. Best case: Marjan abstains or votes with new puppet.

At the recall, assuming Bolasco/Hasse are evicted:
The math: Strumza/Braitman/Lerner v Kaehler/Puppet#1/Puppet#2. Swing vote: Marjan. Worst case: Stalemate. Best case: Marjan abstains or votes with the puppeteers.

There you have it- a nice and easy way to make sure the recall doesn't affect the good times. It's all about the money and the control over it folks. It's politics as usual. The only way to stop it is to sue the bastards or if anyone has any hard evidence, to go to the Feds.

It may have taken a few years but it seems like some of you are starting to realize the only language the Board seems to understand is LAWSUIT.

Why is here always a conspiracy... not just people voting in what they believe?

It would appear Fini only votes the opinion of Learner and Braitman... is anyone proud of that? who voted for that puppet?

What conspiracy?
318 Unit Owners asked for a Special Meeting. Should they get one?
FYI: 318 represent approximately 56% of the total number of votes in the 2007 election and 59% in the 2006

318/1075 = 30% of units

70% of owners not sign the petition.

The calculations about voters and all that is interesting. Is this person saying that only owners who voted in the last election have any rights?

If true, an interesting comment on "the state of democracy" in our happy home.

PostPosted: Wed Oct 10, 2007 6:25 pm    Post subject: red herring Reply with quote

A red herring is a metaphor for a diversion or distraction from an original objective. An example can be found in academic examinations, particularly in mathematics and physical sciences. In some questions, information may be provided which is not necessary to solve the given problem. The presence of extraneous data often causes those taking the exam to spend too much time on the question, reducing the time given to other problems and potentially lowering the resulting score. Red herrings are frequently used in literature and cinema mysteries, where a character is presented to make the reader/viewer believe he/she is the obvious perpetrator, when in reality it is someone far less suspect.
